XO-3

So, we saw the BEAUTIFUL concepts for the XO-2, the One Laptop Per Child's dual touchscreen computer. Well, here's the newest concept for the XO-3! OLPC is tapping into the simplicity of the tablet that's going around– making it a one screen, touch interface. And... they're hoping to release it for $75 a piece! WOO!

It's the triumph of style over function. It's not designed to stand abuse, the keyboard doesn't provide tactile feedback, and unless there's a usable cell mesh network, it's little more than a toy. Moreover it's more of Negroponte's vaporware, a cool concept not attached to any particular reality.
