Entire Building Tips Over

No one knows for sure why this beast tipped over in Shanghai, but it did. Officials report that the building was still in construction and that there was only one fatality. Gizmodo has more photos

Uniqlo Fashion Map

So, I pretty much enjoy anything that Uniqlo pumps out. This is a fashion map that allows you to look at the current Parka Style 1000 collection... on the streets (where it makes sense).

Bowlingual

Uh..... so, Bowlingual can convert your dog's bark to spoken Japanese? Pretty amazing, but does it work? I guess the real question is, can anyone speak Japanese and dog?

Pablo Valbuena

Valbuena augments geometric spaces into environmental brilliance. Using a set of boxes as his "canvas", Pablo is able to project beautiful light animations along the surface.

Concave Scream

In the same spirit as Radiohead's House of Cards Video, this site, from Singapore's Concave Scream, appears to have digitized many classic childrens' books. It's actually pretty amazing because you can rotate the books around, and the more they rotate the more the dots expand.

Lucy and Bart

Here's a beautiful site for Lucy and Bart, where mousing over the left or right side of the screen will cause the primary image of their faces to morph. They're work of "fashion, architecture, performance and the body" is just as amazing.

Banana Café

The Banana Café showcases its latest clothing collection through a newspaper quilt of articles and photographs. It's a pretty cool experience seeing as though there's an iPod to turn on/off music, and a sandwich to eat. Also, you can drag and drop these items for an extra sense of .... you know.... "real"ness.

The Now Network

So, I have to admit. I actually love all of the "Now Network" stuff that Sprint is doing–showcasing statistics of events that are happening right this second. Well, they've moved from the TV commercials to an actual website with the same little compartments of data. I think it's really amazing. And, they also have a screensaver where you can link up with your accounts to feature information specific to you!

ARhrrrr

A brilliant project from Georgia Tech and SCAD Atlanta this augmented reality shooter takes real world environments and places them through the viewing window of a device. With this device you can interact with the objects in the "real" environment. This particular demo features a zombie shoot-em-up. Thanks to Ian.

Masstraniscope

It's been restored! Bill Brand's 1980 zoetrope on the Q Train displays a couple of quick animations utilizing the interior walls of the subway. The train passenger's reactions are just as awesome, as well. Check out the New York Times article about its restoration

Back to the Hat

Yes, I know, it's a little nerdy. But, I love Back to the Future... and shiny hats. And, on July 15th, Amazon will be shipping replicas of the Marty McFly hat from the year 2015. And it's only 25 buckaroos! And yes, I just bought one.

BBC Blast Studio

Uh... I'm pretty sure that this is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time.... if it is what I think it is. Apparently... you can affect what's happening in this real environment all from your own computer, such as spraying paint on the walls. Play with Blast Studio

Wikipedia (the book)

Rob Matthews fully printed 5000 pages of Wikipedia articles.
"Reproducing Wikipedia in a dysfunctional physical form helps to question its use as an internet resource."

Xixi No Banho

So, I reaaaaaally wish I could understand what this website translates to. But none the less, if I could love this for superficial reasons for a moment, the animations build a great dynamic and are super cute.

Miwa Matreyek

Miwa Matreyek's work is gorgeous. For her thesis titled "Dreaming of Lucid Living" she sandwiched herself between two projected images, interacting with both using motion graphics.

Boone Oakley

Boone Oakley knows where it's at. Probably one of the most innovative and brilliant sites I've seen in a long, long time. Why? Because their site sits entirely within the YouTube interface.

Diller Scofidio + Renfro

Diller Scofidio + Renfro is an interdisciplinary firm located in New York City. Their site is pretty fun to navigate, flowing through a 3d space and being able to filter out certain projects simply by knocking down the others.

Up & Up

I've been obsessed with arrows since I was a child, so you can see how Target's new brand redesign has me salivating. Only Target products will receive the redesign, not the store brand itself. Hop on over to Brand New for more juice.

Dê voz à sua imaginação

Using your voice as the "ink" and your mouse as your "paintbrush." This little nifty site invites you to pour your heart out onto a digital canvas.
